Notes on the diagram
1.
The DIVA LAN ISDN Modem provides an IP address to the remote computer.
2.
Both the DIVA LAN ISDN Modem and the remote computer have their own fixed IP addresses so no
assignments are made.
3.
Both the DIVA LAN ISDN Modem and the remote computer have their own fixed IP addresses AND have
specified remote addresses. This means they will only be able to connect if the remote addresses match
the IP addresses of the other device.
4.
The remote computer provides an IP address to the DIVA LAN ISDN Modem.
5.
The remote computer has no IP address and the DIVA LAN ISDN Modem is not configured to supply
one.
6.
The DIVA LAN ISDN Modem has no IP address and the remote computer is not configured to supply
one.
7.
Neither device has an IP address and neither is configured to supply one.
To enable support for incoming data calls
To turn on and configure support for incoming calls, do the following:
1.
On the Manual Configuration menu, click Incoming data calls. This displays the Incoming calls parame-
ters page.
2.
Enable Answer incoming data calls.
3.
Specify the type of password the DIVA LAN ISDN Modem expects the remote to send: encrypted or any
(unchecked). If the supplied password is not in the proper format the call is rejected.
4.
Choose the type of connection protocol to use for the call. The setting you make here takes precedence
over the setting for the profile that will answer the call.
5.
Click connection profile in the Note at the bottom of the page. The DIVA LAN ISDN Modem displays the
Connection profiles list page.
6.
Click Edit for the profile that will answer the call.
7.
Click Authentication.
8.
Define the Remote username and Remote password the DIVA LAN ISDN Modem expects the remote to
send. See Call authentication on page 74 for more information.
9.
Click IP.
10.
Set IP address, Subnet mask, and Remote IP address as required.
